Cut the Pattern Pieces
You should end up with four pieces in total; two front and two back pant pieces. To obtain these, fold the fabric with right sides together, and cut it using two pattern pieces.Sew the Crotch Seam
With the crotch of the pants together, sew a straight stitch. If you are using a pattern, leave the seam allowance recommended. We left about 1 centimeter of seam allowance. To reinforce and prevent edges from fraying, use a zig-zag stitch along these.

Join the front and back pieces
Open the front and back pant pieces, and with right sides facing each other, align the outer side seams. Sew along the edges with a straight stitch. Do the same with the inner seams. To ensure the crotch stays aligned, place a pin to hold it in place. Sew a zig-zag along these edges.

Seal the Waist and Hem
Use a zig-zag stitch to seal the edges around the waist and the hem.

Add Elastic and Finish the Waist
Fold the top edge toward the wrong side, leaving enough space for the elastic to go through. Straight stitch along the zig-zag sewn earlier by leaving an opening. Thread the elastic through the fabric casing. To complete this step, you can use an elastic threader. The ends of the elastic should meet at the opening. Overlap the elastic and stitch together. Close the casing opening with a straight stitch.
Finish the Hem
Fold the bottom edges toward the wrong side. Use a straight stitch to finish the hem of both pant legs.
